The price for the print book is $49.00. While the content is the same as the e-book, it is more user friendly. No more flipping back and forth from the tests to the answer key.

Is there a way to get more info about this, maybe in a PM here on Optiboard? I'm sure this would be a great tool for the staff here, but our web filter blocks the link you gave. I need to be able to give a detailed presentation to get The Big Guy to even spend the $49.00- Thanks!

Hello, I'm the author. It's a book that includes three 100 question practice exams. All new questions, relevant to the exam as it is given currently. Also included is an answer key that not only gives you the correct answer, but also an explanation of the answer. There is a section that includes the formulas needed for the exam, along with explanations and examples of how to solve them for different variables. Test taking tips are included as well as a summary of the latest ANSI standards courtesy of Optiboard's own Ophthalmic Optics expert, Darryl Meister. I believe it's not only a great resource for test prep, but can serve as a review for more seasoned opticians too.

I believe they have, but I can't say that with certainty. I'll call tomorrow to verify.

Thanks so much. We are meeting to review your study guide and a couple others to determine which ones to order for our employees that will be taking the ABO next year. We will be ordering 8 copies. Do you recommend the book version over kindle for easy note taking?

The print book is better because it includes not just an answer key, but the questions and answers together so there's no flipping back and forth, but it is more expensive. If you want the kindle version, get it soon. It will be going away after this testing cycle.

The book will be fine. It is not overly expensive and is a good review as we get down to the last couple of months. They can test themselves intensely and see where their weaknesses are and we can help them tackle those specific area's.

I am also working on a companion study guide that will be a bit different. It will cover the same subject matter but be more in depth like a text book. My publishing partner and I expect to have it completed and published in time for the next testing cycle. Rather than multiple choice test questions, it will be more exercise oriented to better teach the basic concepts.

This sounds perfect for what we need. Do you have an idea of the month that it will be available? We are still deciding whether we have enough time to prepare them for the spring exam or if we should wait for the fall exam. As it is we are quickly running out of time to prepare them sufficiently for the Spring.

The person I talked to in the ABO office said she thinks they have been updated, but she's not 100% sure. Candace, the exam manager, is out of the office til Monday. I'll check back with her then.
