    Optical Classes

I have somebody who could benefit from some of the courses that are offered at VEW.
Unfortunately the classes are sold out.

Does anybody have a way to sneak this person on the books?

    PM me

Heck, most opticians spend their lives trying to keep people OFF the books, and now you're trying to get them ON??

If they don't need the credit, and it's not a "hands-on", you shouldn't have a problem getting them in.

Check with Borysko, I think that he may be running some classes!

Seeing as how OSHA won't let me climb ladders, I could use some help hanging Christmas lights this yr.
    You in Johns?

It was a bit of a downer to schedule 4 classes and only have one confirmed.

The classes were not on the grid a couple of weeks ago, must have filled quick.

Probably will try purchase on site.

I'd buy a class from Borysko, that dude was funny!

Funny - the classes I've attended at West year after year have been - on the whole - terrible with very few exceptions. Some so bad I couldn't take more than 15 min or so of dryly read PowerPoint slides filled to the brim with incorrect information before just getting up and finding something other to do with my time. Sadly, I've found more complete information in several of the free 20/20 mags ce pieces. I've come to seriously question the quality and consistency of presenters chosen for expo. Wish their vetting process was a lot more stringent - particularly for the money they charge.

And you keep going back for more...year after year? After a bad meal, I might wait awhile and go back and try it one more time. If it's still bad, I'm done. I don't keep going back for more.

I like to get most of my education locally. It's a good chance to network, and not as expensive.

    Could you be more specific?

I get what you're saying Johns. It was rarely the same instructors each time though, and I figured I would give the new name/face a try. Sadly, the most poorly prepared and presented classes were almost always given by the revered ABO masters, with one exception that ended up being reasonably decent. So much for that designation meaning anything!

Local CEUs are almost always less expensive, and it's closer so there's less transportation costs. Of course, the drawback is you don't get to see your friends breakdancing on the strip, getting whipped in blackjack, nor falling into the pool at the Marchon party. On the other hand, you don't need to take CE classes to experience all that.
