I would hope the adherence would be comparable to trivex if this material is everything advertised. That would mean superior scratch resistance and less crazing, which would certainly be a plus over regular high index.
As with everything I do in optics I expect all you guys on optiboard to do it first and then teach me and then I will use that knowledge to make money doing it myself.

I use a lot of rimless frames, so I use Tribrid from time to time through Cherry. The pricing is very similar to 1.60 in the Cherry price guide, so I'll often use it. It seems fine, but the scratch resistance really comes down to whichever AR I'm using.

Very cool, edging similar to Trivex, do you use the same settings?

The settings should be for high index.

In my simple mind, I see no reason to not use tribrid in any application (in which it is available) over trivex or 1.60. Seems like a wonderful combo of both.

It's more expensive than Trivex, my favorite coatings aren't available on Tribrid (but are available on Trivex in its Phoenix version), and it's my impression that Trivex is tougher.

I really appreciate all you guys sharing your experience. So guess it isn't a poly killer, I can get some pretty good "non" branded ARs finally, some that stand up to Zeiss and maybe even Crizal... kind of anyway.

You can definitely get some non-branded ARs that are just a good as Crizal -- and get them on Tribrid.

I would love Tribrid to be a poly killer, but in order to do that the price will have to go down. It's tough, light, has a relatively high Abbe value, and is easy to edge.

Don't know how I didn't remember this from previous processing, but this is the worst smelling lens EVER. So bad... Had to strike up an incense match during edging and that hardly helped. Keep this in mind if you have a lab without a door!
Have I told you today how much I hate poly?

I've never noticed that. The worst-smelling lens I cut is 1.74.

100% agree with Quince. I cut my first pair of Tribrid a few weeks ago and it is the absolute worst smelling lens ever. Not even close to any of the other high index lenses for me.

I should be getting a pair in later this week. I've never noticed the smell, but I'll be a-sniffin' this time!

You'd be safer wafting, if need be. Personally- I will be investing in ear plugs to shove up my nose for the next time!

On the off chance that jefe was actually cutting something different and doesn't just have calloused olfactory sensation (don't we all?) does everyone else cut on high index settings also (water flow throughout the edging process is what I'm talking about, I run a Santinelli)

Yes, I cut mine on the High Index setting on my ME1000. Works great.
