Case: bought a crossline model ( Oakley )for sporting activities , I ordered polycarbonate glasses specifically for the frame now I have been googling around and I am still not sure if they polycarbonate or not.
what I did is: went to another optician asked if he could do the sound test see if it sounded like pokerchips...it did ...he even compare it with some normal plastic lenses which sounded muffled and dull.
Also the new lens still had some swarf remains on the edges which indicates its polycarbonate.
but I still wonder why on my invoice it says cr39, the optician which I asked said why he said it only refers to plastic in general.
Here is the invoice:
as you can tell I am quite confuse still wondering if the glasses are safe to play sports with.
ps I asked for the invoice of the lenses from the lens company he said he didn't have one....
any thoughts are welcome.
