Have you tested DuraVision® Platinum lenses?
Have you tested DuraVision® Platinum lenses?
No. I'm eager to try it, though. I don't think it has released in the US yet. I'm hoping it is more durable than the disaster that purecoat has been.
I got an pair seems very impressive
They released it in the UK around a year ago, and very quickly pulled it off the market after many failures. I was told it was a specific issue with Photofusion (we haven't had any failures, by the way). It was re-released in January but only on a few materials, and I'm not sure where it's at now because we figured it would be safer to stick with Lotutec for the time being. If we want a good coating, we don't choose Zeiss anyway.
I can say the scratch resistance doesn't seem to be as good s Hoya's top coating; most of the ones I've seen have picked up quite a few little scratches.
The way that their website talks about it, it makes it sound like a process, not a product. I'm a little confused now, because my reps had been telling me for well over a year it was coming down the line. I sure hope that they don't consider Purecoat to be their durable coating process...
May be this works to know the new Duravision coating from Zeiss
