It appears it only does demo or pattern tracing ( without the optional frame tracer ). Is that a good thing? On a side note, I wonder how the insurance landscape will affect the edger manufacturers. They are all moving towards moving finishing into their own/contracted labs. There's going to be less demand for in house edging.

24/7----Interesting observation about the insurance landscape changing an offices need for an edger.

Price of OCTs went down when medicare reimbursement went down.

Still, most interesting, my edger is dying and I immediately thought of replacement. But with the insurance changes.....

    Thanks for some thought

Good point 24/7. With the insurance changes that are sure to come, maybe labs will consider "cutting" the cost of edging.

Looks like it does the same things as a much cheaper Weco E-3. http://www.aitindustries.com/pattern...ng-system.html

Thank you Jacqui. It is tough for me to wade through the "in house edging" decision. I hope you are well.

Tracer is a modest cost upgrade. I've seen this unit, but not used it. Built like a tank, as is all Santinelli/Nidek equipment.

Like Barry said, I think a tracer is needed. The pattern trace is just not good enough. I'm going to try an Excelon 4000 next....
