Alcohol took shiny finish off frame

We had to use alcohol to remove a taped -on sticker. The shiny finish is gone. Any way to restore it?

possibly some tape residue left on frame, if not have you tried buffing using a wheel?

I tried light buffing with velveteen. It must have had a top finish

I miss real Zyl. I suggest wd40 , goo gone or lens drilling oil on the sticker residue, rub it in gently with an orange stick or chopstick, wait ten minutes and wipe it off with a paper towel. No residue!

Probably a propionate or nylon based frame (like SPX) - the color is applied to the surface and can be removed with alcohol, or even lens cleaners that have alcohol in them. Try buffing, but you may lose some more of the color... but increase the shine. Good luck!

Only use microfiber cloth for cleaning my contact lenses. It removes all the moisture without scratching and loosing shine.

Use Ronsol lighter fluid to remove the adhesive. We have been using it for years

Simple. Acetone, soft white cotton cloth. Do not rub. Wipe only in one direction. Once or twice. No real pressure. Nice and easy does it.

Ditto on the lighter fluid. It is the best thing to remove glue in spite of the smell. Have never damaged a frame with it.
