Can we get this in any other format? I don't kindle. I think this'd make a nice birthday present for someone.

I've been thinking about whether or not to offer it as a PDF. The downside is it's freely distributable that way. I've also though about whether or not to publish it in paperback. I couldn't get it done in time for this testing cycle but could for November if there was enough demand.

Yes, there is a Kindle for PC app and it's free.

Any questions you have about anything in the book or ABO prep in general, post them on Optiboard. I and several others will be glad to help.

After looking it over, I'd say a last minute NOCE (ABO exam) crammer couldn't find a better NOCE prep book. It's worth more than the asking price.

I just bought it. Looks really good so far. I don't take the test until November so I haven't started cramming yet. Once I get a little more into it I'll leave a review on Amazon. I like what I have seen so far! Thank you for the help and putting this study guide together Gary!

This is an example of kind of work a well-prepared Optician can produce. Great job, Gary!

    280) a lens has a focal length of 106mm. its dioptric power is:
    A. 4.00
    B. 6.00
    C. 5.00
    D. 3.00

You found a mistake. I confused the terms focal length and radius of curvature. The question should read:
A lens has a radius of curvature of 106mm. It's dioptric power is:
    c. 5.00
    The explanation should read:
Using the radius of curvature formula: 530/106 = 5.00

I proofread that at least five times and had someone else review it as well and we both missed it. Thanks for the catch.

As the questions reads, the correct answer would be 1m/.106m = 9.43 diopters

Hey Gary, the link at the top doesn't work any longer, and I tried searching for "pass the abo exam" on amazon and got a flashcard study system by Mometrix. Is that it? Thanks!
