I just received my new edger and this thing is awesome. The HPE 7000 with the auto blocker. Salesman, John, is great to deal with. He does a lot of his own tech calls. It's nice when the salesman is proficient on his machines. Great experience.

Congrats!
I came, I saw, I left
Thanks...anyone who doesn't want to spend the money on the Santinelli, this is an awesome alternative. The North East customer service is excellent too.
Um yea...we don't have that type of scratch or work flow. Pretty cool, none the less.
I got one too. Traded in an aging Essilor Kappa. I married it with the expertt tracer blocker. It's very accurate and not as fast as the Kappa. Happy to take accuracy over speed. I do notice the roughing wheel cuts very differently from the Kappa which required a different system to trap the waste.
Enjoy the benefits of your new equipment. What is the cost for the systems and why did you pick that one?
i am married to Santienlli, but it nice to know other equipment is stepping it up for the benefit of all of us.
After my trade in it was about 27k. I ran an in office test and was satisfied it do the type of edging we needed. My preference is to have the lab do all drill mounts and take the responsibility for mounting scratches. The 3 year warranty was a plus too.
After looking at the total cost of ownership the excelon was a better deal.
I am not sure about the 7000 series, but we have the Excelon 8000 series and the drill is an plug-in-play add on for about an extra 5k. So far no huge complaints, Coburn has been on the ball with numerous software updates. I have no experience with the Santinelli, but I have heard great things about them. Over-all the cost for the Excelon 8000 series was not all too bad and it greatly increased our ability in the lab.
Hey Dave, congrats on getting rid of that boat anchor and getting the Excelon! I hope I get to see it in action soon. Also, congrats on getting Tyler Wilson on the Raiders to go along with DMac.
Doc O
We seriously considered getting this machine to replace a 10 year old kappa, we ended up with a 9000 from VSI which has been over all great to work with. That was about a year ago.
Glad to hear the Excelon is good though! I'll keep that in mind 3 or so years from now.
