how to cut a high dioptre foam lap

Hi Guys need some help I wanted to know how to cut high dioptre Coburn foam tools for example Plus 13.00 curve on satisloh V50 I can’t figure out how to make a shoulder on the tool like in this picture. I don’t know if that makes sense.

They sell foam laps in smaller sizes with greater thickness so that you can cut a high power lap, or you could manually cut away excess foam with a knife.
