One of the water pumps on my Santinelli gets very hot after running for a while. I checked and cleaned it up but that didn't help much. Anything else I should look into? Or should I just look for a replacement now? Thanks

Which pump do you have? How old is it?
Pumps do go bad, especially submersible pumps. Replace it.
Freeze some water jugs and toss em in the tank. That'll help.
When submersible pumps, especially the "Little Giant" brand start to heat up, it's an indication that they've gone past their usable life. Once the heating starts, it's time to replace them. Cooling them down doesn't help (much), because the next step is oil leakage around the seals. Once that starts, you've contaminated your sump and all your lenses will be covered in oil sheen which is difficult to remove.
Pull that bad boy out and take it down to your local electric motor repair/replace joint and have them throw in a new set of bearings and seals and rock on.
That is after you have checked with granger for a pump or go to Lowe's or Home Depot. Hell a pump is a pump as long as it is throwing out enough volume to keep the lens good and wet and runs through the chamber fast enough to keep it rinsed out.
And really they are not that expensive.
Thank you all. The pump is made by Fuji Elect and is listed at almost 400. As the edger itself is getting old, I'll probably get a Little Giant with the same flow rate and outlet size and call it done. Thanks again.
