    Tinting Inquiry

Two weeks ago a patient asked me " how do you make sunglasses that make reds "Pop"?"
At first i thought she might have been pulling my leg, but then i remembered a pair of old Elle aviators i had in college. the effect the patient described was spot on with the memory. Does anyone out there have any experience with this, and is it possible to make other colors than just red more intense in this manner? i would love to be able to offer this to my patients.

Thanks in advance for any information.

The color you want to see better should be the color of the lenses. For red "pop" I would use red or vermillion lenses. But why red?
Lost and confused in an optical wonderland!

............and don't think that these new 15% blue light absorbing lenses will do that effect, it needs full blue light absorbtion.

BPI has a therapeutic tint 550 that will do exactly what your looking for if you tint it to a density high enough you could effectively only stimulate the red receptors giving you significant pop.
