Very cool! How much denaro?
I watched a short demo clip on this unit just a few minutes ago. I agree, i will be at SECO this month and plan to see it myself. the demo clip was very impressive with lens mapping, ( not sure if it shows both spherical and cylindrical mapping ), but even so, very impressive.

That is awesome. I want one.
Pretty Spendy, but pretty cool!!!! Saw one in Vegas last year. Wish my little practice did enough volume to justify it's cost.
is it the same company that makes the lab mapping products as well?
Let me know how much and what you think of it as a sales tool. We could show folks their lens vs a free form design. Thoughts or comments.
Now if it can analyse one lens both distance and near robotically, and then move the frame over to the other side robotically, and give PD and OC height, then I will be impressed. If it just gives colorful maps...mehhhhh...
Well Barry, you've forced our hand...
The engineers at the FezzJohns Inc. labs have been working day and night to develop similar technology. Because of this thread, we will give you a sneak peak of what we've developed so far. The beauty of this software is that it can give you the geometric center of the majority of the lenses in your office... BEFORE they even arrive at your office! Remember, this is not the finished product, and it still needs some tweaking, but here it is:

Cool optically, but how practical is it save to satisfy your own curiosity? I have used these type of almost topographical lens maps before - but since most offices just have a vertometer - how practical is it? Would you ever show a patient the screen and calmly tell them they are seeing just fine despite their objections? I couldn't justify it.
