Passing the ABO to certificate???

Hey fellow OptiBoarders :)
So thank God, I passed the ABO on my second try. YAY!
My question to you is this; how long roughly did it take for you to receive your certificate in the mail??

I don't make much now, I work at walmart's vision center, plus they're making it hard for me to receive the raise I am now entitled to after passing. I'm a patient gal, but its because of this reason that I am starting to get nervous lol, bills are adding up and yeah... Haha so any info is much appreciated.

If you recieved notification that you passed the exam isn't that good enough to show your employer? The certificate is just a formality.

I got an email saying that it would take another 6-8 weeks for the certificate and other information to arrive after receiving news that I passed. Congrats on passing! Maybe you could just show your employer the email, like cocoisland suggested, and see if they'll accept that (which they should).

It's not the certificate that makes you certified....it's passing. Our state is not even giving out wall plaques anymore for licensure, unless someone wants and pays extra for it. In addition, even the renewal cards are no longer sent...the licensee prints it out from the internet. Just saying, the certificate for certification and licensure is not what's important.

I received notice about 3 weeks ago and still don't have my certificate. I did find out that I passed the Virginia state board and received my license in the mail yesterday. So just keep on keepin' on and it will come... at least that's what they tell me.

Which part? I was very confident on the abo. The state boards I slept on a bit because its stuff I do every day. Never once considered the fact that using different equipment and being timed and all would play a factor, but after I took it I was convinced I failed. Nice surprise to get the paper in the mail :) difficult, no.... Challenging, yes. It adds a new dimension when you're under the microscope. I was so bitter after the lensometer portion. My last section was adjusting a frame to a board member and taking measurements and doing a bench align and the poor guy must have thought I was going to jump down his throat :p using new equipment was definitely tricky as I had to neutralize flat tops with prism on a lensometer where the tray didn't stay still and the lens stopper didn't hold the lens at all but I managed. I started second guessing myself. So the difficulty definitely rested on me having confidence in knowing that I knew what I was doing.... If that makes any sense.
