Nidek Le 9000 problem, help :)

    Hi. Can anyone help?
I have a Nidek Le- 9000 Sx express that will not start. When i use the main switch, i only hear the tracer starting up. The machine will not start. The display on machine is on and lighting but there are no numbers or anything on the display. I also tried to use the brightness switch behind the machine but still not working. I can hear the fan is on, but thats all.
The fuses behind the machine are ok.
    Thankful for answers.

There are 2 main parts to an LCD, one of which I think is called the backlight if it goes bad the screen still looks like it's on but you don't have contrast to see the letters.

Can you trace, chuck, I can edge a job from memory without the screen?

I do not own a 9000, this is how I would proceed...

If it only has 1 power supply, then the power supply is good
If it has 2 power supplies, then check to see if the fan, screen (working items) are on the working supply, if so the other power supply is probably bad.
If it has 2 motherboards, then check to see if the fan, screen (working items) are on the same motherboard, if so the other motherboard is bad.
If it has 1 motherboard then check to see if the fan, screen (working items) are on a direct connect to the power supply or on a separate section of the board, either way I would think part or all of your motherboard is bad in this case.

Hope it helps, Keep in mind I know nothing about the 9000.

My guess... it´s a display board malfunction.
    You can still try this:
    1- UNPLUG THE MACHINE
2- Open the cover, under the display there´s board BA03. You´ll find two connectors (board-big one on the right- and inverter-small one on the left). Disconnect both.
3- Clean the contacts on the board with rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) and a cotton swab. You can also use a piece of tissue paper and a pair of tweezers or a flat stick
4- Allow to dry, cross your fingers and re connect.
5- If nothing happens most likely BA03 has gone kaput.
    Good luck!

Hi Fabian. I did what you suggested and it actually workedWhen i turned the machine on. Everything looked normal.
But when i turned it of, it was dead again The tracer starts as normal, the display is weakly on, but no reaction from the machine at all. No chuck sound or anything.

(Sorry for my bad english )

    Hi Petter
Do you have a hairdryer on hand? Dry the board, might be moisture. PM sent.

Hi Fabian I had to change the motherboard. Just did it now and it works again. Had to make some adjustments ( sizes ). It will probably cost me some dollars but at least i can do the glazing again.
    Thanks for all helps
