    Idea Determined client

I've got a new client who seems to have done some research and wants a Essilor 360 lens 1.74 in order to get what he believes is the best lens and A/R (latest Crizal) he can for his single vision -5 x -6.25 lenses.
I haven't worked with Essilor before. Is he accurate in his belief? The buyer doesn't seem to care about cost and is simply trying to have the "best viewing experience" possible, as he put it.

Should I sell him this lens or is there something better that will have a greater chance of pleasing him without frustration?

    Thanks - Alan

I cannot comment until you post an RX that is readable. Are you in the business or looking for advice as a layperson?

Consumer or not, everyone needs to know that the best lens is usually the lens that is positioned optimally in front of the eye, accompanied by a frame that accommodates that position. In other words, we can get better results with a low-tech lens that's positioned properly, than with the most high-tech/expensive lens that is poorly positioned.

If you're a consumer, shop for an experienced, knowledgable, optician. If you're an optician, learn your business.

Probably a consumer. At least not someone who understands Optics. They identify themselves as "other".

Try contacting your lab and see what they recomend. A lot of manufacturers have great premium products as well as great house brands in all FF products. I am a proud member of the ABLE club and have found many products that are equal or in my opinion better.

-6.25 -0.75 10. For a compairison Alan; what other option would your dispensery normally go with in a case like this?

Zeiss Indivual 1.74 is the BEST solutiuon if your really require/desire 1.74. Otherwise, I might opt for 1.60 from Shamir or Zeiss, or an OEM design with a known quality AR

Client already knows what they want, to try to convince them otherwise will just seem like sour grapes and you will lose the client.

Research the product, match the clients enthusiasm, have a happy client.

Umm, I know this may be a pointless observation but who the heck has "never worked with Essilor"? Furthermore Essilor 360 what? Comfort? Enhanced? This request makes zero sense. I hope this is a consumer because I would be really dissapointed if this is an Optician asking these questions.

I would suggest getting some training in lens design before attempting to fit anything. Robert was spot on with his comment.

This is clearly a consumer posting, but for the record I agree with Barry here. I've worn the SV360 and the Individual and it's no contest.
