    Your favorite mixed drink...

Keeping in the spirit of the "local drinks" thread, I'm going to go way out on a limb and suppose that a few of us optical types might indulge in an adult beverage from time to time...

What DO OptiBoarders order when they're out on a weekend (and if its an odd drink, what is in it)? It might be interesting to see if certain mixed drinks have different names in different countries.

Personally, I like Screwdrivers (especially when made with Banana flavored vodka), and Long Islands...

So, let's all pretend we're at Darris' bar (he DID used to own a bar, you know), and mosey on up and order our drinks!

Let's see if I can remember back to my less innocent days. Alabama Slammers, shots of SoCo, SoCo and Coke and SoCo and grapefruit juice. I guess this means I just like Southern Comfort.

My favorite back east was gin gimlets. Since moving to the middle of the country, it's been Jack Daniel's on the rocks or a cordial on those low alcohol days.

As a Southern boy I hate to admit this, but the finest thing to come out of New England is the Long Island Iced Tea.

I'm a bit of a mixed bag (!). Might be in the mood for beer, sometimes fancy a martini.By the way what about nibbles?
Does anyone out there like pickled eggs? (especially served in a pack of Salt and vinegar crisps!)

Hurricanes are my favorite. Brings back many memories of New Orleans and OAA State Society Leadership Meetings. Although I also like gin and tonic with a twist of lime.

Mixed drink: Long Island Iced Tea! (Do you have Logan's Roadhouse Restaurants in your areas? They make a decent version and call it Roadhouse Tea. Don't know if they change anything tho.

If it's out of a bottle: Bacardi Silver (I like the bat image...) :p jP

I dont know what its called, But I mix Mandarin Vodka with Orange Crush. After about 3 glasses, I start to say, "Hmmm...I think I'm feeling a little..." And you never finish.

Normally I'll have a beer, but as for a mixed drink I would have to say malibu run & pineapple juice.

Now that I see we have quite a few beer ("be-ah" to Cape Coddite Harry) drinkers out there, what is the beer of choice for OptiBoarders (Steve, I can imagine a lucrative endorsement deal here...)?

I'm a Silver Bullet guy myself (Rolling Rock is great stuff too), and Amber Bach is special occasion stuff for me.

Got to admit, gin and tonic does work for me too. The quinine in the tonic water helps keep malaria at bay.

Here's hoping you drink more Magaritas than Tom Collins' then!

    Corona with wedge of lime
Help me out here... why drink something that you have to squeeze a lemon in just to make it palatable??? (Actually, I know a LOT of people who love Coronas, and after 6 or 7 at last year's office Christmas party, they seemed pretty good to me as well!

That lime is supposedly part of a tradition having nothing to do with palatability. The lime was supposed to keep flies out of your beer and keep scurvy away.
