    Ice-Tech

    Hi,

Has anyone heard of this company "Ice-Tech, 59 West 9th Street • Atlantic Beach, Fl 32233 USA", I'm trying to get in touch with them but not successful.
The reason why I'm seeking their contact details is because I need to source "Digital Bifocal" which has been indicated on their website.

Any further information from you professionals would be of great help.

    Thanks

Just had lunch with their president and operations director the other day.

    Here's Ryans' e-mail address, he's their operations director. ryan@ice-tech.com.

They have designed their entire process in-house: machinery, software and management systems. They aren't limited in what they can do, they employ their own programmers and can custom tailor solutions no one in the business has the flexibility to do. Pretty amazing stuff they can do.

Hoya also produces an aspheric/atoric ST28.

How about that, I just edged up my first pair about an hour ago for a patient with lots of cyl and prism. I have heard many good things and them, and received my order promptly.

I would suggest NOT using Ice-Tech based on my past experience. If you have had trouble contacting them, it may provide you with insight as to how they operate? Just my opinion, others may vary!

There are other options as Mr. Martellaro has pointed out.

You may want to try contacting Hoya as mentioned, or Quest Optical Lab.

I have had great experience with Ice-Tech.

A client had a +10.50 progressive at the Hoya lab for over 8 weeks and was about to lose the order, Hoya couldn't get the job out correctly. Ice-Tech made the lenses and I had them in the clients hands in less than 48 hours. Saved the clients day.

    They have 2 bifocals.
    1) Standard front ST-28, limited materials and less power range.

    2) Round Backside Add, fully free-form. They call it blended, but its only a .7 mm blend area, the seg is almost invisible. We did one for a kid, +18.50, with the seg biscecting the pupil. It took the child out of lenticular, and with the bifocal on back, it was invisible. The parents almost cried, it looked like a +12.00.

    Their phones:
    904-247-2627
    888-423-8324

Ask for Ryan or Joanna. Great people, they have done impossible jobs more times than I can count.

I hope they got it fixed, because everyone we ordered ended up with a coating issue. Custom in-house ar was not a favorite of ours.

    Hi,

I did not understand, "blend area", is it 7mm or 0.7mm. Also is this the size of the seg. If yes, then it seems that it's pretty less when compared to a blended bifocal 28 from Younger.

    Thanks

I haven't tried Quest, but Ice-Tech can certainly do things no one else with which I have an account can (including Digital Eye Lab).

    Hi,
Do you/does anyone have the contact details of Quest Optical Lab, I tried writing them on QuestLab@TampaBay.RR.com as shown on the contact page of their website but the mail bounced back.

    Thanks

Ice-Tech eye lens company has one of the youngest corporate presidents around, and she knows she’s under scrutiny.

Beth Showalter joined the advanced lens technology firm in Atlantic Beach in the marketing department. Within two years, she was running the company. Now at age 28, she’s president after being promoted to the post in September.

Ice-Tech produces prescription lenses for sunglasses and corrective eye wear. The company that was founded in 2004 by Allen Weatherby now has their lenses and eye wear sold at about 200 retailers across the United States.

Showalter said she takes tremendous pride and is competitively driven to advance the company. She is a native of Jacksonville and a varsity tennis product of Providence School in the Intracoastal West neighborhood. She turned that talent into a college tennis scholarship at Asbury University in Kentucky, where she was captain of the NCAA Div. III program and a journalism major.

You’re president of a company at 28. How does that happen?

A lot of hard work. I’m someone who puts in over 70 hours a week. I devoted my life into my career. I worked hard and saw opportunities where there wasn’t a job description written for me. I was marketing assistant for only three months, and that’s what I was hired to do. … From there I went to the sales side of the business.
