Anyone still using wax? If so do you tape? How do you deblock? How do you wash or clean lens? Asking because after all these years I would really like to find a reasonable alternative to this mickey mouse lens washer. Thanks for input.

Yes. Tape, yes. Shock deblock. Lenses cleaned with dish soap and clean water and dried with an air dryer.
Not taping so we have a difficult time getting all the free bond off lenses. Seems as if we are working on the washer daily.
definitely use tape. not so much to protect the front of the lens, but to avoid trouble cleaning the wax off the lens. we don't wash our lenses at all except rinsing after polish.
rinse with colder water so as to harden the wax. you should have a deblocker or else you're probably wasting a lot of freebond. tape, waste of money with the proper deblocker and lens washer you just don't need it. be careful with stronger add powers with straight tops, do have a tendency to break in half. check thermostat on lens washer and brushes need changing ever so often.
