    Breaking heart

My dear friends on Optiboard. I would like to share with you that my 35 year old nephew was killed on October 9th while driving a motorcycle. The accident occurred at 7:51 in the evening. The 64 year old woman who turned in front of him, told the police officers that "there were automobile lights behind the motorcycle and she never saw the motorcycle (although his lights were on) because of the glare. The police officer at the hospital stated that that particular time after sunset is one of the worse.

I don't ride a motorcycle, but know a lot of you do, so please be careful. No matter how well you drive, others may not see you. For the rest of you...."share the road". Be careful. Watch for everything and everyone.

I am very sorry to hear this Diane.

I will keep you, the rest of his family, and the lady who turned in front of him, in my thoughts.

Thank you for the reminder to always be on the watch.

Thanks for sharing Diane, and I am sorry for your loss. I just stopped at the harley store Sunday, and almost bought one after not having ridden in almost 40 years (mid-life thing) . That is one of my wifes big fears for me getting one.

I am so sorry for you and your family's loss. My husband's uncle also lost his life on a motorcyle 7 years ago. Our hearts go out to you and your loved ones.

    Diane,
So sorry for your loss. Will be thinking of this during that awful twilight time...even with polarized glasses it is sometimes very difficult to see when the sun is really low on the horizon.

Oh my goodness Diane, I am so sorry. You are right we need to keep our eyes peeled especially at that time of day. I hate that it takes a tragedy like this to make people aware. My heart goes out to your family during this difficult time.

    Diane,

I am so sorry to hear of your sudden loss. To be taken so young, and so suddenly leaves so many questions for those left behind. I wish comfort for you and your family.
