California to not allow stand-alone vision plans?

What are the implications of this and how will this affect business going forward?

California has always been the odd one out and will always continue to be. This is no different. Way to go, CA, make it even more difficult and more expensive for the consumer!!

Yes, but unfortunately, many of the LOL legislation that is passed there, seems to find it's way into the rest of the country soon after.

If it works against things like WTQ, I'm all for it!

WTQ? What am I missing here? Very interesting legislation. It's not like it would kill off that particular business. As stated in the article, there is another piece of legislation to bring them back into the mix.

Let's see, this predominately excludes VSP from the mix as they are about the only player that is not attached to a medical insurer. Maybe if they hadn't been screwing the OD's over as much more of the docs would go to bat for them. As it stands, good for CA.
