We just got in a shipment of new Gant Rugger zyl frames recently and one of them, the Newkirk, is composed of a material I'm not familiar with, and I was hoping for some help identifying it. It's a combination frame, and the part on top that's normally zyl is made of a different type of plastic, or at least I think it is. I'm not sure if it's still zyl and I'm just not used to working with it in a matte finish, and if that is/could effect the texture, or if it's something different; it feels similar to our nylon frames. Any input? I'm also interested in the durability/heat resistance of the material. The Gants seem to be pretty hit-or-miss-- some seem really durable, but one of the batch was heat-warped in transit-- so I'm interested in any input anyone might have.
