Busy NJ Practice for sale..where to begin?

My father has turned 66 and although he loves practicing, it is now time he sells his practice and begins his perminite vacation.
The practice is very busy, we have been up and running for 37 years. It is truly amazing, he started with no patients and a tv. Wating for patients. Now, we are consistently busy. Was quite a run.
So, what Im asking is, how and where does one go about selling a practice?
As his daughter, an optician, his optician; Im in need of guidance. It is my job now to help my father. His permanent vacation is long overdue.

I truly appreciate any help you may have to offer.

    Regards, E

Contact a lawyer, an accountant, and then a real estate agent.

A practice consultant that has experience valuing, selling and the transition to retirement may be money very well spent!

I'd put out feelers with the local ophthalmologists and optometrists first, then get a consultant to value the practice. You will likely have to sign something with a practice broker that will prevent you from selling it yourself.
