Things to remember/consider--
1) This, technically, has nothing to do with eyeglasses themselves. They were the product that Mr. Borker chose to "distribute" through his page, but this didn't involve shoddy frames, poorly made lenses, improper prescriptions or anything of the like. He could have just as easily been an abusive book dealer or software salesman. Though his conviction is a victory for decency, and should hopefully shield the eyeglass world itself from stigma, this is not necessarily a victory against online retail, per se.
2) Unless I missed it, the article failed to mention that he is still to stand charges for possession of child pornography, an equally (if not more) serious crime for which he stands to serve even more time and be subject to even more brutal treatment should he be convicted.
Sooooo?

Smart and stupid!
Some of the stuff he sold was USED from Ebay. He had multiple accounts there! Doubt he sold fakes. Also please dont forget that it is possible that his customers made him this way! It is not an easy business. Thats why I never went for it!
I took a peak at his company on ******consumer.com....WOW! This man was not liked and apparently neither was his product. There were some mentions of fakes and used (like Lenny said), as well as people just never getting their product. He had a couple of different names that he did business under (both business names and personal).
A man went to an eye specialist to get his eyes tested and asked, "Doctor, will I be able to read after wearing glasses?"
"Yes, of course," said the doctor, "why not!"
"Oh! How nice it would be," said the patient with joy, "I have been illiterate for so long."
What you guys's and girl's have been missing is .........................................
The man is in prison for 4 years now and can not use a computer for another 3 years, not because he is an on-line seller. but because he has a deranged personality.
The "decormyeyes website" i still up there and selling. You got the guy in jail but he is still doing business at http://decormyeyes.com/
Yes,his case has nothing to do with glasses or whatever products. His thing is fraud and threats, which under any circumstances is serious crime.
The website still could be opened now. I think they all should be force to close. Right.
What an Idiot!!!!!
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

I think this is one of their websites. Look at buyback option. Now guess what are they doing with them! :)
Wow, given the Canadian situation where we spent almost eight years in court to get a suspended sentence and 17 million in unpaid fines and ours is back in business .... I am in awe of American justice. Did your opticians even have to invest their own money to see these kinds of results ?
I have a feeling that one of his "customers" was related to a news reporter or law enforcement. Justice is rarely blind.
Amazing and unbelievable story! This guy managed to create such a big revenue? I suppose he is a charismatic destorted person!
