3 piece mount with stones any ideas

Someone in our office is wanting a 3 piece mount with a few stones on it, she saw someone else wearing it. I am sure there are several companies that have them, any advice would be great to start looking.

Silhouette's new line with the stones are nice. Some are more simple than others, a few are stunning. I think they are pricey, but they do use Swarovski Crystals though, so they are good quality.

Tura has a couple. The new Silhouettes are lovely. Judith Lieber has some, but the stones don't stay as well as they should. I haven't seen Swarovski since it went to Marcolin, but I bet they're beautiful too.

McGee group has some nice-looking ones that are not crazy expensive. I have had good luck with them. Still LOVE the Silhouettes!

Actually any hobbie store has more assortment than you will ever want, including suvarski crystals. Hobby Lobby and Michaels for sure.

Thank you for all the great leads... I have never put stones on a frame is it simple and do I need to pre-drill a depression? What type of glue do you use? We have the ME-1000 that I think will put jewels in the lens but never tried it, anyone have luck with it?

Yes, drill a depression. As to glue ask Jacqui and then tell me. I have some that has dried up and the company has gone away.

Long as you have not had to much coffee that morning and have a steady hand. Use super glue vary sparingly I would think it would work just fine. After all its not holding any weight to speak of or any moveing parts.

The Diva Line from Eastern States has a few I think, as well as Silhouette. I'm sure Charmant's drill mount line has some. If you want a less expensive line we just ordered a few from the Totally Rimless collection by McGee to try.

If you want stones on the lenses, and have steady hands you can do it yourself. Or your lab should be able to do it.

Silhouettes Crystal collection is very savvy, however I will never forget the time I had a patient come into the office with her own "crystal gem hackjob." It was very tacky, she glued random crystals onto the actual lens which did her frame absolutely no justice.

Anyone had a request for initials yet? Remember that craze from the 70s-80s?

I am worried it might look like a hack job if I did it, we have a few here that do lots of art/craft work they might be good. Do you recommend a dremel or dremel hand attachment or a dremel dril press, I also have a regular drill press from harbor freight to make the depression on the temple. I did see a few from Tura with the crystals in the lenses I might try a few on some demo jobs to see how it comes out with the ME1000.

I use the chamfering tool. Dot with a pen and then use the tool until the depression is how you need it to be.

I used to use the optical drill press (same press used to stamp lens, i.e. saftey lens stamp) with a sharp point bit to make the depression for the crystal. Can't say crystal mounting was ever my speciality.
