    Confused OfficeMate v10.6.....

For those out there operation OfficeMate:

Just last month we upgraded to v10.6 from v8.5. We held off due to the fact of all the bugs in v9 and early v10. (Even though they STILL have bugs that drive us nuts)

We have had MANY new issues with the ledgers portion of OfficeMate now. When entering a ledger for insurance, and then having to Modify each Line, when we enter the corrected amount of the Patients total out of pocket for frames, lenses options, and contacts the math becomes terrible thrown off when you record the modified line.

This is causing us to reverse calculate the math in order just to get the math to equal out and the patients full benefits to be paid out by their insurance.

The only thing we have come to conclude that we can do to correct this is to re-enter EVERY line item (ie SV lenses, PAL lenses, Frames, Contacts. etc) for each and ever Insurance: VSP, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Principle, etc. And this could take up to a week of non stop creating of newer line items to fit with the newer software.

Is there anyone else out there running the same version of OfficeMate with any leads on what to do with the issues of lagers being 100% correct without having to re enter your entire library of items?

From what it sounds like, it may just be something you missed in setup. Did you setup third party setup first? Did you setup all your insurance settings properly? Did you setup the general ledger interface properly? Officemate support is usually very helpful in figuring out those issues if you want to call them.

Is there any way you can take a screen shot of what you are experiencing? Press the print screen button and paste it into microsoft paint or microsoft word. Then post and attach it as a reply.

A short word of Officemate Versions
First off, I feel many offices have done the same thing waiting for a stable version... Does one even exist? According to a 3rd party vendor of Officemate and even an Officemate representative stated that 10.5.12 SP2 is the most stable software, patched with a lot of compatibility issues with 3rd party add-ons. Officemate also, used to have a "beta tester" program that would allow participating doctors to "try" the latest release. That doctor program is now gone. Whenever a new version comes out, we are all beta testers...

I'll see what I can do in a PM to you.

Thanks for the tips to look for and see if they set everything up correctly.

We upgraded from 7.41 to 10.6 earlier this year. One of the easiest ways is to make sure you have entered your insurance then click eligibility and give auth dates. This allows you to modify. Of course I had to set up insurance for each although I am not billing to them through Gateway EDI. Example is Davis Affinity for us and Eyemed. Hope this helps. Things are finally going more smoothly after the first 5 months.
