    Lightbulb 6-month ABO&NCLE Certification course

Canada has just passed new Student Visa regulations. Now all US citizens can go to opticianry school in Canada for up to six (6) months without any Student Visa requirements, much like a visitor.

BC College of Optics is Canada's only private opicianry school and has been training opticians for over eighteen (18) years. Located on the west coast of Canada at Vancouver, British Columbia, its six (6) month program starts each September and March.

You can prepare for May 2003 ABO/NCLE exams and visit beautiful BC, which has a very favourable exchange rate ($1.00US=$1.50CN).

No, the ABO/NCLE credential is not recognized anywhere in Canada. This 6-month program is intended for US nationals who intend to return to the US upon completion of their training and wish to sit the May 2003 ABO/NCLE exams. Approximately 22 US states have ABO/NCLE as their optician licensure requirement.

From what I understand, neither Canada nor the US would permit foreign-born nationals to work in their jurisdictions without a valid work permit (Green Card in US & Ministerial work permit in Canada).
