    Lining up drill mounts

I'd like to know how everyone is doing for lining up for drilling rimless, I've been using the demo lens add a couple leap pads to the back side and stick it to the front of the new lens, then I just drill through same holes, works good for me, just interested in knowing if there are better or more exact ways of doing this.
    Thanks all, Rich R

    Hi John,

I drill lens by CNC machine. It cuts and drills 300 pairs per hour for quantity order.

I tried your way today and it seems working well for any single job.

    I suggest a drilling system...

I use the Smart Dirll from Smart Lab Equipment. Talk to Chuck at 800.355.0309, he'll send you a demo viedo.

Rich, look into the Weco Verifier Pro with the new version 4 software. It is a device that uses a type of radar to scan, verify, layout and block uncut lenses. The newest sofware revison also maps the holes in the old lenses and transfers the data directly to the Weco 450 drill edger. The 450 drill edger will drill the holes as part of the edging cycle.

Is this Weco for Wholesale Labs or for a smaller production?
What is the price of this system?
Does it cut and drill all the materials?

    Thanks

Both the 450 drill edger and the verifier are designed for high and low volume production lines. The drill feature is an option on the 450 edger. The verifier is also priced well considering the amount of human error it can rectify as well as the fact that it eliminates the blocking position from the production line.

Can the edger work without Veryfier?
I mean to block the lenses the usual way?

Doyou know if this is the only edger that would drill the lenses?

    thanks

Yes, you just enter the distance from the CG to the hole in X and Y coordinates. You also can set the hole size from .8 to 2.0 mm. The machine mills rather than drills and therefore no heat is created. Slots and blind holes are also easy to create. Because the left eye is a mirror image of the right the lenses are always symmetrical. I believe this is the only edger in the world that drills in cycle.
