    Redhot Jumper Why are some people crazy!!!!

    Pt: I need to get the refund on my frame.
    Coworker: (after investigating), well, your new frame cost more than the one you exchanged, so actually, we upgraded you at no charge.
    Pt: NO, I looked online, and this same frame is between $50 and $100 less than you charge, so I want my money back.
    Combined thought's of all optical staff: GO JUMP OFF A CLIFF YOU %^$#**&^ @#^*&!!!!!!!

    Have a patient right now who has been impossible to satisfy regarding her contact lenses. She is unhappy with the doc, the staff, the service, the lenses, the store hours, the carpet in the foyer, you name it. She has complained to corporate who are demanding an explanation. The first thing that came to mind is that "This one is simply nuts" but upon further inspection of her file I find she is an attorney. That explains a lot.

    NOT! WT Freak? No one in there right mind would price match with an onliner! I will never try to compete with online or warehouse Optical..... Get your pad out & have a nice break down for her. Frame price + your consultation fee + measurements + adjustments + cost of storefront viewing (verses online pics). Yup, that should make it all about even to what you likely charged her.

    I would consider a price match with another local comparable independently owned shop.

    I am firmly convinced that the upper middle class is horrible at teaching manners to their children.

    These people come in with a ridiculous sense of entitlement and then argue and try to talk down to the professionals that are actually capable of solving problems.

    I don't get paid enough to be someone's psychologist...

    Well, there you have it. Any reasonable optical would have replaced any offensive carpet in the foyer!!!

    Refund her money. Remove lenses and give them to the patient. She can order the frame online and then mount and adjust all by herself. Or she can bring it back to you and pay a nice fee to have the work done. Her choice.

    We don't generally have too many online people at our office. We give them the standard speech about buying unregulated medical devices over the internet, and then explain that we can't service any product that we cannot guarantee. Most pepole have chosen not to purchase online.

    We will refund a frames costs difference even if bought on line subject to a refund fee which is twice as much as the refund.
