    Bringing it back....Anti-Fatigue

Alright folks, here it is....I have been out of the loop for over a year or so and when I left (due to chronic illness) I was just begining to fit the Anti-fatigue lenses, I think I maybe did two, and with little to no feedback since I left the company. Ok, so I was always the one who was the lens nerd in the group, and here in my new office, a small privately owned business (thank the graces above) I have found that my boss, whom I worked with many years ago together at LC(...ok, stop the hate) lol...he has never heard of this lens and can offer zero insight. I want to know who you may be fitting with this lens and what was the success rate based on what they are using the lens for. Obviously this will go to the early presbyopes more often than not, but I'm looking for a little more in depth, to see if this cookie is worth taking a bite out of or if I should toss it.
Similiarly, after I checked our labs for the Vantage and let him and the rest of the staff know if was available, I was greeted with these kind of blank stares. AH...Face palm, they haven't heard of this one either, lol....time to get on to the labs' marketing peeps maybe? Not sure. I am a non Trans fan for myself but think it definately has an invaluable place in the market for some people...but only after I can't get them into a true sun lens just short of handing it over for free. So, since I have your attention ( I hope), for those who have been trying them and even selling them, what is your take on these lenses? I have been trying to read up as much as possible however I had finals the last couple of weeks and I admitt it....I was distracted. (hanging my head in shame).

The beauty of optics: the basics never change. The beauty of optics: The technology is ever changing! (To me, that really is the exciting part, but we just have to weed out what is worth it and what isn't). Ok, folks...I shall torture you no more. For those who may have something rude or unpleasant to say, well...go ahead, I have thick skin and all you will do is show everyone else your true colors. To those who will give me productive answers, I thank you in advance. I am jumping back into a world of insanity that I love, but I hate that I have missed some mini milestones here and there. Have a great night you guys!

A man went to an eye specialist to get his eyes tested and asked, "Doctor, will I be able to read after wearing glasses?"
"Yes, of course," said the doctor, "why not!"
"Oh! How nice it would be," said the patient with joy, "I have been illiterate for so long."

I have a pair of Hoya Activ8's on order for myself. I've started calling them "enhanced single vision lenses". :) I'll let you know.

I had Anti fatigues, used them especially when doing crazy amounts of reading uni stuff and computer etc, just made it a little bit easier on the eyes/ more comfortable looking at different focal lengths. I tended to last abit longer working with them. I got them free but If I had to pay for them I probably would have stuck to the single vision, there was a slight difference but not enough to seperate me with cold hard cash that could be spent on chocolate!

See if this helps for the Anti-Fatigue: http://www.shamirlens.com/relax.aspx
There are rules. Knowing those are easy. There are exceptions to the rules. Knowing those are easy. Knowing when to use them is slightly less easy. There are exceptions to the exceptions. Knowing those is a little more tricky, and know when to use those is even more so. Our industry is FULL of all of the above.

I've done this one successfully many times. Everyone from emerging presbyopes to 30 year old accountants who spend all day staring at a monitor to younger higher myopes who do a lot of reading/computer work. I have had zero problems. I wear one myself sometimes, usually the week before taxes are due or when I'm doing a lot of near work.

My favorite flavor is the Relax.

I got the Hoya's back today. Love them! Just a little bump in power at the bottom. Very easy to understand.

Have made lots of them using decentered execs, D35 and Franklins. Used .50 and .75 adds with half to one diopter BI prism.

What was the fatigue related to back in those days? Replacing typewriter ribbons?
