I allow my section to have their cell phones due to the fact our boss constantly tries to reach us on them, even though he asks us not to have them. I don't mind them quickly and quietly taking emergency phone calls or texts as long as their priority is and always will be finishing all of their daily work, and within a timely manner. As soon as I feel they are abusing their privileges, I ask them to put their phone away and do not take it back out. Works pretty good.

Probably not a good idea to use a cell phone blocker.
Yet here they are being openly sold. These people must owe billions by now. I wouldn't have a problem using one. http://www.jammerspot.com

My company has a strict policy against emergencies during work hours, so this would work for me.

Actually when women started voting was when this country started going to Hell. Usually thier only deciding factor is: He might send my husband or son to war. Women don't think there is anything worth dying for.

I sort of agree with Optilady but unfortunately I have known a lot of women that wouldn't. One of my neighbors stood out in the front yard yelling, my babies (twin infants) were still in her burning house. My comment was if I came home to that, the damn woman better have some severe burns.
Women should be women, but Men tend to think some principles like freedom, personal honor, the Bill of Rights, God and stuff like that is worth dying for too. Or at least we did before the testosterone level dropped in this country.
As to pregnant and bearfoot, no. As to standing along side the men in combat, No!

Chip, the moment men go back to being real men, I'm sure many women would go back to being the soft delicate creatures from ye olden days. By the way, while you men are off playing G.I. Joe, who the heck do you think is home being both mom and dad to the kids?

So, women should, or shouldn't be allowed to own cell phones.

    That was the question...wasn't it?

    So that settle's it:

1.Some of you believe some employees should be allowed to have cell phones in the case of emergencies.
    2. All of you agree that women should not be allowed to have cell phones until they are allowed to vote.
    3. And all of you agree that you'd never want to work for an ogre like me.

    Next topic please!

Actually I had a dream one night, I was in college and wrote a thesis about: "What did women do with thier lives before telephones? (yes telephones, not just cell phones). The kicked me out of college.

Employee time theft can negatively affect your business, resulting in a decline in productivity and profit. Time theft occurs when employees spend company time doing things unrelated to their jobs or are frequently late. Identifying time-wasting activities can help you devise policies that address proper use of time during working hours.

I drove by a city worker yesterday, supposedly watering the huge pot of flowers on the street corner, but instead, because he was texting, was pouring gallons of Miracle grow into the street. I wanted to take his picture, but I was in the middle of texting my wife.
