    Online Sales

We are a small bricks and mortar optical joint and we buy licensed products from Luxottica, Safilo etc.

Question is: Are we allowed to sell these glasses online via a webstore front?

Apologies if this questions has already been answered but I couldn't find one.

    Thanks in advance,

    Cobysurfer

Depends. Check your contract with these companies.

Your contract will tell you. But fromexperience. They usually have to be close outs and discontinue.

    My thought on this--
Remember as a B+M you can be traced and more easily be held "accountable" no matter how outrageous the claim, for patients who's main concern is cheap. I see nothing but headaches for the nickels and dimes you stand to make.

it is easier to seek forgivance than permission , they do not want you competing with their own on line companies.

How does Frames Direct (Essilor) and Eyebuy Direct get away with selling virtually every Luxottica frame available online?

As long as you don't touch exclusive lines and stay close to MSRP you will be ok with the big guys.
There is only small problem with that rule! You will NOT sell anything online!!!!:)
