*Cheap* Plano 9 base polarized source?

    Hey all,

Anyone know of a source for decently cheap polarized 9 base planos? I'm looking for a pair for a particular patient but also to make some S/G demos to keep in house. I can have my lab surface them but I don't want to pay $30-40 for planos....call me a cheap ******* ;-)
There must be something I'm overlooking, this can't be that hard.

    Thanks in advance,

    Chad H.

    Chad,

I don't know of any 9 base sources, but I do have a good 8 base one. Try K-Mars 1-800-296-1551.

They have 8 base poly polariod in grey, brown & G-15 for $4.48 a pair. They charge $2.95 shipping whether you order 1 pair of 1,000 pair. So I normally put together a 25 pair order.

You might ask them to fax you a complete stock list since they also have excellent prices on 1.60 & 1.66 aspherics with AR. The price on stock Corning Sunsensors is pretty good too.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks!

    Thanks Framebender,

I just called them and have the info on the way. Those prices look like exactly what I was looking for.

    I really appreciate the help.

    Still Looking

    Framebender,

After receiving their price list I noticed that they didn't list plano 8 base, only 6's. I called back and this time they clarified that they didn't carry 8 base plano's. They could surface them just like my local lab can...but no stock planos :(

    Anyone else have an idea?

    Thanks again,

    Chad

    Lenny,

Thnaks for the direction but when I look up Cohens in NYC, I get many different locations. Any idea which one I'd call to talk to their buyer?

    Thanks again,

    Hi Chad,

    Please contact:

    toplook@gcn.net.tw

    Guangzhou Look Optical Ltd.

They manufacture CR-39 polarized lens as low as $3.00 a pair if you don't complaint too much about the lens quality.
