My store name has been hijacked by an online eyeglass store

When doing a Goggle search for eyeglasses in the Honolulu area my store comes up in this suposed directory for Opticians.
The listing looks like this "The Eyeglass Shoppe Honolulu, HI in The Eye Doctor Directory. Opticians (LO) Eyeglasses.com"
When you click the link you are redericted to "Eyeglasses.com".
I have call & emailed then asking them to remove my store name frome there link but they have not.
Any Ideas on what to do?.

Under the Google heading "The Eyeglass Shoppe Honolulu, HI in The Eye Doctor Directory. Opticians (LO)" . You click on that, and you are redirected to eyeglasses.com

Just go deal with Google directly to have it corrected. Show that you are the legal owner of the store.

I check the google search result and understood more about your problem. I would do two things:

    1) Complaint to Google about their incorrect search results. The "google places" page would be a good place inside Google to file your complaint. They should be able to at least run their web crawler and update the search results. Here is their link: www.google.com/places/

    2) Deal with www.theeyeglassshoppe.com directly. It seems that their listings are free (correct me if I'm wrong). So go ahead add your store info there. [if you do not like the idea, then deal with Google]

@Tony: It isn't actually google, or ask, or any other search engine at fault. It is the likes of Firrrrrmmmmoooo, and Eyeeeeegllllasses.sneet that listed you in their "directories". You simply ask the firm to remove you from their directory listing, so that the link to them isn't popping up whey someone goooolgles your name. If they refuse to do so in the time allotted by you to do so................sue.

Thanks Uncut, When you hit the google link "The Eyeglass Shoppe Honolulu, HI in The Eye Doctor Directory. Opticians (LO)" eyeglasses.com pops up with a full page ad. in very small print at the very bottom of the ad they have a disclamer that this is a directory list with your name in it. The whole thing is being put together by eyeglasses.com and they claim they are a directory service, witch is a lot of bull.

Yes, I checked you out, and you are right. Firmmmmmmmoooooo also runs a likewise "directory" and a simple email to the "contact us" part of the site should kibosh the listing, they must comply, or be in violation of their ISP agreement, usually a request to remove a listing, with a deadline, and a threat of a complaint to their ISP/domain provider, will strike fear! They will comply.

Blue Jumper Not much you can do...........................

The domaine www.theeyeglassshoppe.com/ belongs to Date Registered: 10/21/08

    Date Modified: 01/07/12
    Expiry Date: 01/08/13
    DNS1: ns1.wun.ca
    DNS2: ns2.wun.ca

There is no record of any registration of a same name with the extension Honolulu. You can probably register it but it is a very long one,

and then is the one in Honolulu which has a domaine as egshawaii.com which is probably yours.

Then you get the Google listings that come up because some on-line opticals manipulate the many search engines with their meta tags and meta names. There is not much you can do.

Chip is correct. If you haven't registered the name as yours it isn't yours. It's a procedure with some cost attached so beware!
