    Question Polar TX

What makes the Polar TX lenses in Cocoons different from the lenses in Live Eyes and Live Extreme?

Does the hydrophobic coating on Live Extreme lenses affect their scratch resistance?

Polar TX is a polarized TAC (TriAcetate) based lens that is used on Cocoons only. It is scratch resistant, optically correct and has excellent lifespan (durability). PolarTX lenses are recognized as the best lens available in a sunglass at this price point. It is a relatively new material, but is being used a lot more by many other sunglass manufacturers. It is a lot more expensive to produce than the lenses found on competetive or inferior brands of fit over sunglasses, but we have not raised the price.

Xtreme feature injection molded polarized polycarbonate lenses, 2mm thick, which pass ANSI Z87.1, the safety glass standard. The lenses are scratch resistant, optically correct and obviously impact resistant. Cocoons too meet ANSI impact resistance standards, but are not designed to a safety glass standard. Hydrophobically coated to repel moisture and liquids, Xtreme lenses are the highest quality lens Live uses on any product.

Xtreme are on the back cover of Eyecare Business in July... and there is a spread in 20/20 in July... check them out... post release orders have been encouraging, so we are expecting a good reponse from our retailers
