    Exclamation OAA/SEOC Cutoff dates...

Ok, ladies and gentlemen, you've now waited until the last minute. There are 400 of us registered at the hotel and that's just not enough.

The cutoff for the convention rate at the hotel is Sunday, June 16 and the cutoff for early registration for the convention is Saturday, June 22.

Our national organization needs us right now, whether we approve of it's past behavior or not. If you want to be a part of the new OAA, please register and join us. Sitting back and waiting for someone to come to our rescue just won't work any more.

I'd like to believe that as OptiBoarders, we have the best interestes of our profession at heart and are committed to raising our professional standards to the highest levels. What better place to begin to make our voices heard than at what has been the traditional source of leadership in Opticianry, the OAA convention and Delegate Assembly.

    OAA/SEOC Registration

    Judy,

Thanks for updating us about the convention. I was just about to do so.

The original cutoff for convention rates for the hotel was June 10th, but it DID get extended a few days. Don't expect to have it extended again. The hotel WANTS those rooms.

Someone called me and asked me why should they pre-register for the convention, couldn't they just show up and register onsite. My answer of course is "Yes, you can register onsite, But...the rush will be worse, and you will have to wait, and there may not be enough CEC's, and there may not be enough food, and there may not be enough """beverages""", ect. etc, etc," because all of that is based on Pre-registration."

As someone who works on conventions and has for a lot of years, we always welcome those who wish to register on-site, for whatever reason, but if you CAN PREREGISTER, it sure makes it better, and eventually brings down the costs of registrations.

Right now, the convention is looking pretty good.

Let's Invite everybody, and make this a really great convention.

    Diane

Just wondering if this thread should also be posted in the general disscusion forum for a wider audience?
