    Progressive Lens & Prism

    hi !
Been in optical field for 20 years , but today one prescription from Germany put me on hot seat.
    It reads
    OD + 2.00 DS / -0.75 DC Axis 55 Addition + 2.50 DS , 3 Prism Base 90
    OS + 2.25 DS / -0.50 DC Axis 90 Addition + 2.50 DS , 3 Prism Base 360
and my Client is advised to use Multifocal Lens .
I am a bit confussed ,how to srface this priscription ? ANY HELP ?

    Kind Regards !

Is it the prism that's troubling you? 3 base up OD, 3 base out OS?

Shouldn't be too hard to do, just like any other multi-focal with prism.

In order to answer that meaningfully, we'd need to know what equipment you're using, especially the blocker & generator. Do you not have a surfacing program (if not, I know where you can get one...)?

2 manufactures use this nomenclature, and it kind of makes sense, its just prism based on a 360 degree clock so that directional is provided with a single number. It allows for prism to be perscribed or compensated for at unusual angles, such as with FF compensations. Could you imagine this: I need 1.4D BU 2.6 BO prism? instead I could say 3D at 292. Its the future of Prism.
