This HRT 3 was taken from a medical facility without the computer. This HRT version (3) is the improved model that has more advanced features and accuracy compared to version 2. This is the original picture of the item you will be receiving (no demo picture like other sellers). Item comes with power cord and firewire cable (to connect to a computer). There is a recording sticker that stated it was serviced as recent as 12/2010! Since it has no computer and software, we were only able to power it up (see picture) and check all the physical aspects of it. Joystick moves smoothly. Chinrest moves up and down fine. The scanner head moves fine forward and backwards away from the patient when it is on the track. I did notice the scanner head can dismount from the base (see picture). We called Heidelberg and the HRT technician told me a small piece to locking it in place can be replaced for $200. Nevertheless, we checked with Heidelberg company and this model is still serviceable! We were going to initially use it but lack patients is forcing us to sell it. We did contact HRT directly and know buyer can get a brand NEW HRT software, with computer, with its external Hard drive for only $3000 plus tax and any labor ($100/hr). This is the best deal since HRT software is copyrighted and nontransferable so why not buy the software directly from them and have a warranty directly through the HRT manufacturer! Just get the HRT scanner from us for a fraction of the price! A complete HRT scanner with computer and software set runs around $20,000! Last opportunity. This instrument will increase your revenue! Bill Medi-care for services!

HRT-III Tomographer

HRT
Glaucoma Analysis Using the Confocal Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope (cSLO)
The Heidelberg Retina Tomograph (HRT) is a confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscope. A laser light scans the retina in 24 millisecond sequential scans, starting above the retinal surface, then capturing parallel images at increasing depths. The stacks of images can be combined to create a three-dimensional (3-D) topographic image of the retina. Images are aligned and compared using TruTrack™ software for both individual examinations and for detecting change between examinations. The same technology is used in the HRT Retina Module.

3-D Optic Disc Topography vs. Tomography

When applying the technology to glaucoma, the HRT takes data from a 3-D stack of tomographic images of the optic nerve and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL), aligns the images and computes a 3-D topographic map of the surface of the retina. This 3-D topographic map is analyzed for signs of glaucomatous damage and the results are displayed on either a single eye examination report or on an OU examination report.

24-Millisecond Scan Helps Avoid Eye Movement Artifact

The HRT scans the retina in 24-milliseconds, faster than most involuntary eye movements (micro saccades occur in 30-50 milliseconds) and faster than voluntary eye movements (macro saccades occur in 150 or more milliseconds). Each scan is composed of 384 x 384 pixels for a total of 147,456 data points covering a 15-degree area of the retina. Other technologies, such as time-domain OCT, scan slower than 24-milliseconds, contributing to motion artifact (blurring of the data).
