We have just taken possession of a just about brand new Briot Alta XL/NX patternless lens edging system. This edger looks to have been installed, and only run a few times before the business closed. This drilling lens edger has only just over 600 cuts!!! Thats right.... Just over 600 cuts!!! Most of those cuts are calibration cuts from the factory. This system is very close to brand new.

Update.... We have been testing "playing" with this machine. What a nice piece of technology! You just put the lens in the blocker and not only does it read the lens, it spins it on axis and blocks it right on. Only 682 cuts. Here are some more pics.

According to your description the only thing it doesn't do is make coffee in the morning. Or does it??

When I bought it, it was marketed as being able to do what you describe...that is, read and align the lens, etc... I didn't buy it for that feature, and was not disappointed when it did not work. They later admitted it was more of a "gimmicky" thing.

Does the machine you're selling REALLY do what you're saying accurately? How difficult is it to calibrate?

Unfortunately, I wont get to play with it anymore. Its already sold.
I did put some progressives on it off axis and center and it made them right on. That was pretty cool. We did some wrap jobs and drilling too.

The most unusual thing we did was cut some phoroptor lenses!!!

This machine was just about brand new and I was impressed. Will it stand the test of time is anyones guess. The buyer got an incredible deal because we cannot service or support the unit. I hope to hear back over time to see how its doing out there.
