Buying a brand new Briot Lens Edger? * STOP* **LOOK HERE FIRST**

We have just taken possession of a just about brand new Briot Alta XL/NX patternless lens edging system. This edger looks to have been installed, and only run a few times before the business closed. This drilling lens edger has only just over 600 cuts!!! Thats right.... Just over 600 cuts!!! Most of those cuts are calibration cuts from the factory. This system is very close to brand new.

Now here is the good part.......

VSI does not sell, service, or support this particular model. Therefore, we are willing to liquidate this unit for about 20K off the original retail price. Thats right!!! You can steal this unit right now!!! As of this moment, 1/12/2012...Only OptiBoard members and my facebook linked friends can see this incredible deal. We will be playing with this edger for the next few days and I will be taking many more pictures. Next week, this will be advertised everywhere.

Dont let this one slip away...... Call me TODAY

    Briot Alta NX edger
The Alta NX edger pushes back the limits of lens edging whilst optimising your time. It allows you to undertake more complex work such as the latest designs in rimless eyewear and lenses with high curvature.
    • Autofocus Bevel - to personalise the job you have the choice of four fully automatic bevels that take the lens geometry and tracing data fully into account.
    • Finesse Safety Bevel - this option provides surgical precision on the internal and external faces of any lens thickness.
    • Millimetrique Drilling - an entirely new design allows rimless drilling to be made at any angle from 0° to 30° with an outstanding accuracy of 0.1mm, resulting in easy fitting of rimless mounts to the lens.
    • Concordance Grooving - The inclined groove is placed automatically according to the curvature and the thickness of the lens.
    • Diamant Polish - absolute transparency and sparkle to add to the elegance of the finished masterpiece.

Update.... We have been testing "playing" with this machine. What a nice piece of technology! You just put the lens in the blocker and not only does it read the lens, it spins it on axis and blocks it right on. Only 682 cuts. Here are some more pics.

You can steal this for half price!!!

A few years ago, I bought a brand new AIT Combimax. By today's standards, it is pretty basic, but it has held up extremely well, and is now in a satellite office cutting around 10 jobs a day.

When I bought it, it was marketed as being able to do what you describe...that is, read and align the lens, etc... I didn't buy it for that feature, and was not disappointed when it did not work. They later admitted it was more of a "gimmicky" thing.

Does the machine you're selling REALLY do what you're saying accurately? How difficult is it to calibrate?

Unfortunately, I wont get to play with it anymore. Its already sold.
I did put some progressives on it off axis and center and it made them right on. That was pretty cool. We did some wrap jobs and drilling too.

The most unusual thing we did was cut some phoroptor lenses!!!

This machine was just about brand new and I was impressed. Will it stand the test of time is anyones guess. The buyer got an incredible deal because we cannot service or support the unit. I hope to hear back over time to see how its doing out there.
