No, it's too useful. It's a great time to play golf or ski or play tourist in the City, or lots of other stuff; the usual crowds are indoors and out of the way.

When is it? If it's this weekend, we've got plans to go skiing. I hadn't realized it, but Martin Luther King must have been one heck of a skier, because all of the ski places around us have MLK specials.

    Who'd of thought it?

Speaking of the Super Bowl though...is $4k a good price for a pair of tickets? I know that I spent $1800 for our honeymoon, and we were gone for more than a week. It was in Jamaica, and was all you could eat, drink, and included airfare. (Of course, we got married 23 years ago, so you've got that inflation thing going...)

Good Luck selling your tickets, and I hope the buyers have a great time!

It's not face value, and it's not under face value. That's obviously an easy sell as a last resort.
It's not for a month from now.

The deal in our store has been for 5 yrs now. If we hit our yearly growth goal my brother and I get tickets.
He's going to Colorado and I have little kids.

    If you know anyone though...

    Heretics!

The ultimate secular holiday (no family you don't like) and if your team is not in it the best multiple 30 seconds of entertainment of the year!!

Truth be told however I'd spend 4+ grand on a lot of other things first.

    Care to join us ??

Hope you won't be too disappointed when the Patriots get some well deserved revenge for the immaculate reception of Plaxico a couple of years back! Would you care to join us in the Patriots thread, or should we just stay here for some classic trash talk? Heck, I'm a moderator, I could just merge the two threads! Why didn't I think of that?...........I'm not quite sure I remember how to do it!

I love a friendly game of trash talk.
Boy what a rematch it'll be.
I'll send you a picture of Brady with towel over his head as Eli takes a knee.

    DEar Anthony,
Eli will be on both knees....dejection showing which came with the realization that he's AlWAYS going to be behind Brady, in talent, in experience, and in NFL history. Pity too, he is a very good quarterback, but not GREAT.

Years ago Pete Hanlin and I had a friendly wager whice I will be happy to repeat with you. Loser of the bet post's photo of self in the winners Super Bowl Cap. Now Pete, being on the THRIFTY side, make me supply the Patriots hat, and we took the photo at Vision Expo the first or second year they won. We had some good trash talk going that year and he wasn't a happy camper. I think you can still search out the picture using the engine. I would love to see it again but lack the energy to find it tonight.

    Game On??

Those eli and brady facts are true. A real fan knows that, but that's also why im still not concerned. Brady and his prolific offense of 4 yrs ago, will prove much of the same this year.

    As for the hat bet.....ON!
Look on the bright side, at least the giants hat is still red white and blue

Before the Patriots, and well into the 60's I was a diehard Giants fan. I grew up on Connerly, Huff, Robistelli, Summerall, Webster, Gifford, Tittle et al. I ate, drank and slept them.It was the only team we got on TV in New England. I remember sitting in front of our 11 inch black and white Zenith tv and trying to look at the picture through the snow on the screen. Snow on the screen for you youngsters, came from poor reception to your roof antenna. Then we got our own team and I gradually switched teams. The move to AFL was very gradual but by the time Nameth beat the Baltimore Colts it was complete. A lot of water under the dam since then! I love the Giants second best which is why I want them to come in second this year!

Actually, it was David Tyree, not Plax.

Also, interestingly and tragically, Tyree suffered a severe knee injury in the following season's training camp and was put on season-ending IR. He was eventually released by the Giants, worked out for the Buccaneers, and signed with the Ravens in 2009, but never made the field. He signed a one-day contract with the Giants and retired in 2010.

So the Helmet Catch was the last reception of Tyree's brief and otherwise average career, his mediocre life as an NFL receiver capped by one of the very greatest catches in the history of the sport.

The price of Super Bowl tickets should be called for unnecessary roughness and penalized many hundred dollars. The game is, to be sure, one of the largest spectacles of sport in the world and it is reflected in the price of the tickets. Maybe I'll just sleep then. Article source: Attending Super Bowl still super expensive

I thought you were sleeping and needed a wake up call! No Gronk excuses from me......Football is a TEAM sport! If he didn't get on the practice field today or early tomorrow, he won't be playing.(prediction) Coach Bill is strict about that, and regardless of what the Gronkster is telling the press, Bill will have the final word. The Pats are flexible and have been firing on less than full cylinders all season. The seem to find ways to work around the staffing problems. (Another testament to the Coach)

    Is it Sunday yet???

If Gronk is out (and HJ's analysis is spot on) look for Branch or a little fireplug Danny Woodhead (out of the backfield) to eat Giants for dinner!!

The Gronk will play a little after we're up by 31 in the fourth.

Who will pull the first trick play and how soon?

I say Coughlin mid way through the first.

The only guarantee from Coughlin is he will be caught on camera, red faced shaking head and mouthing an F bomb multiple times. Regardless of score.

I disagree Gronk plays no matter if he doesn't practice at all.

End of day, our 'O' is good enough for 30+ and 'D' is just good enough to keep you under that.

You can disagree all you want, team rule, no practice, no play, no exceptions. Academic anyway, Gronk practiced yesterday, and will be able to play on Sunday. Prediction-pats 41 Giants 20

PS good morning Anthony! No more sleeping late!
PPS Lets talk about Ocho on Monday! Some are saying his whole season was a "rope a dope" Just for this game!
