Director of Wholesale Sales – US division

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsible for managing the sales of lens products to large wholesale customers. Oversees the activities of lens sales reps, and acts as a driving force in increasing sales volume. Maintains relationships with large customers and acts as a liaison between customers and the sales & marketing department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for overall management of lens business with large wholesale customers.
  • Manage the field sales team in order to drive sales of lens products to wholesale customers. Maintain regular contact with sales reps in order to provide feedback and to assist them with increasing sales volume.
  • Regularly analyze the sales performance and recommend corrective action for sales shortfall, and take immediate corrective action directly with identified customers.
  • Continuously stay aware of happenings within the industry in order to take advantage of potential business opportunities.
  • Maintain relationships with large customers and resolve any potential issues that they may have.
  • Gather information on competitive products in order to assist sales and marketing in staying contemporary with competitive activity.
  • Represent the company at major regional and national industry conventions and meetings.


REQUIRED EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in a sales management position
  • Extensive experience in optical sales and strong knowledge of optics required
  • Project an aggressive and tenacious salesmanship approach coupled with finesse.
  • Excellent organization skills required
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must be able to present complicated concepts and product benefits clearly and accurately to different audiences.
  • Position requires a minimum of 50% travel
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
