    Progressive Engravings

    Why are progressive engravings 34 mm apart?

    That is fine but I think the spirit of my question was why the arbitrary number of 34mm not 35 or 33. Does it have something to do with 68mm blanks?

    Good question! It could depend on average frame size vs. PD because you want the marks as far as possilbe, but not too far they don't get cut off.
