Its a PAL with a new name..................just look at a review on any other one. Probably different envelope or box and maybe price.

The price is good for the results I'm seeing. It's targeted as a low end Varilux lens. It's actually priced at less than Definity (possibly for certain reasons I can't be sure of). I've fit about a dozen mostly in short corridor. All of them have been instant adapts and very similar to the reactions I've received for Definity lenses. So there, I've ended up fitting a new lens with confidence and have seen favourable results. Optiboard ain't the same as it used to be but at least now if someone searches for a review of this lens they have at least one.

I dropped "Varlilux Freedom" into Google and this thread was the only mention. Do you mean the Essilor Accolade Freedom?

I haven't been able to find anything online either but it's a new Varilux lens in Canada situated on the low end of the price scale. It's not an Accolade Freedom. The buzz term for these lenses is called a "Digital Focus Booster".

This is bizarre. Still no online presence. It's a new edition to our price books. We've got standard pamphlets about the lenses to hand out to customers. Jeez! There's nothing about them at the varilux exclusive website either.

It could be in "test market" phase, so distribution is limited before they decide to add it to the stable of over-hyped but mediocre products they already offer.

We'll see. It's not like the inquiries I shot off to Essilor are being handled in a timely manner.
