    Unhappy

    Hello everyone,

I have been working on a project in Excel and wanted to password protect the macros in the file. Does anyone know how to do this?

Another question is, I compiled the VBA project, hoping that it would protec the macros, no such luck, what was the point of compiling?

I know that the topics on this board are generally for optical related, however I have no where else to turn, PLEASE HELP! In the past, a few of you mentioned that you have done some of your own programming, how did you handle this?

On a lighter note, if any of you have any questions about Excel or programming in it, let me know, I might be able to help. Until I can figure out how to update my personal information, my email is RSabbara@ev1.net, i offer this to anyone that needs it to help me keep my skills sharp.

    Hi Richard,

I don't know the exact procedure for Excel 2000, but I can tell you how to do it for Excel 97:

    1. Go to your Visual Basic Editor
    2. Select the correct VBA module in the Project window to the left
    3. Go to the 'Tools' menu
    4. Go to the 'VBAProject' Properties tab
    5. Go to the 'Protection' tab
    6. Click on 'Lock'and enter your password

The next time you open the spreadsheet, you won't be able to view or modify the code without a password. Hope that helps.

    Best regards,
    Darryl
