It is by universal misunderstanding that all agree. For if, by ill luck, people understood each other, they would never agree.
John,
What on this test shows me what YOU can see on my computer?
Surely all you're doing is running a control that shows the contents of C (in this case in the top left box on an HTML page) for whichever computer the page is viewed upon? That's not much different from, say, viewing an image document using IE.
The page works the same, even if you're offline having deleted all your cookies and previous history.
I wish I had a pound for every computer user I'd frightened with dummy illigal operation and 'need to format hard disk and reinstall windows' dialogue box programs created in VB6! Why use a fully functional software creation program to make useful items, when you can scare the living sh&t out of non-geeks with naughty programs!
10p, I was going to let this run a lot longer but seeing as you asked....:hammer:
:drop: There is no hacking of your computer involved just a simple single line of standard html or in this case 4 showing drives c,d,e & f... You could show a as well but thats another story you would not like...:finger:
Safe to say your hard drives are safe..:D Just thank MicroSoft for giving us the end to a means.....
Sorry John!!
I did think after I posted that maybe I should have not said anything!
Now you've got to try and write some code which CAN do what the trick does! All you've got to do is outwit Microsoft (probably not as hard as you might think).
Will have to 'mail you one of my 'problem' programs (the favorite bit is where the progress bar gets to 98% then just stops!).
