  • Test the Nation... a Brit IQ test

A friend pointed me to this webpage:

    Test the Nation

The test takes about 20 minutes and then they send you your IQ score. I don't know how accurate this test is, but it was fun!

Oh the site is still up then....We had to suffer an evening of this on tele on sat night. :o It was promoted as the largest ever brain test...They then come up with loads of useless stats of where the best/worst live wether they drink beer or whisky have green or pink hair you know the kinda thing....
Over 95.000 played it online while the program was on being linked straight into the beebs puter to give them a massive amount of data to play with....
Hosted by yes you guessed right.. Ann " ;) weakest wink ;) " Robinson....
Lets test the (big pause) nation.....

Watched a bit of this, was amused by how unable Anne Robinson was to answer many of the questions herself.

      Who was the weakest link?

Does the ability to recognise hidden shapes have much to do with IQ? I wonder.

Does having a high IQ score make you a better person, last I heard MENSA was still a high IQ dating agency!

      I must not be cynical.

      Oh of course I must!

Yes and that was with the answer in front of her........ They should have left her at home and had Carol Vordaman much better looking and has a brain to boot....

I wonder, was there someone there to cast insults and disparaging remarks at her each time she missed a question- or did she just insult herself?

            John,

They could have used Carol Vorder'wo'man, but having met her in real life she is only 1' 3" tall and has a none removable grin.

She probably turned down the show because she wouldn't be working with comedy guru and fashion genious, Richard Whitely (who is also just as sad in real life, too).

                Good God!

Why do you people insist on exporting your TV shows to the US???

Okay, I'll admit that "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" was alright for a while, but then we have to stomach the "Weakest Link!" Now, there is some horrible show about people who want to become a "star" that's airing (I understand there was something like this on UK television last year).

Well, I suppose it will be interesting to see how we Yanks score on an IQ test. I received a xxx on the Brit version. It is useful to know that Ms. Robinson did so poorly on the Brit version. Maybe she won't be so insulting to everyone (and by insulting, I mean "*****y") during our foray into intelligence assessment!

Well you sent enough of your rubbish unfunny soaps over here so now its our turn to send even worse rubbish to you......

Pop Idol was quite good to watch here...At least some thought so...Its cheap tv as we have to pay to watch so to speak (well if you phone in you do :hammer: ) seeing how some of the young ladies dressed just to impress is fun, and we hear your yankiee lasses are even offering more to the judges ;) :finger: :bbg: but by far the best is the worst one's, just how they have the nerve to think they can sing.... We hear one yankiee lass was soo bad they asked if she had had singing lessons on replying YES was told to find a lawer to sue the teacher....

I heard Simon Cowell has already reduced a contestant to tears over there. :)
