Wouldn't say I use it with regularity but it does work to close small spaces between lens and eyewire. You must wait til it turns clear, a little heat sometimes helps. And you must have both lens edge and eye wire clean.
Also can be used for those patients who complain about lens squeeking. Will help a little to cushion lens from frame impact.
Durability, pretty good but not infinite. How strong does it hold lens? Depends on how big a gap you are trying to fill. This is not a glue to retain lens, but rather a liquid interliner.
In the bottle it seems to keep a very long time (years). However whenever you use it you must clean all the components well (paint gun cleaner set and Q-tips come in real handy

The stuff being sold on eBay is old and clumpy.
I use it. I gave up trying to keep the metal nozzle clean and just squeeze a drop here and there on the bezel and then smooth it with my finger. I'll then place it on the glass bead frame warmer for a much faster cure.
I'll second what Chip said.
I use liquid latex interliner from time to time and have had nothing but success with it. Very easy to use and effective. I had a lady come in recently that I used it on her frame probably 2 years ago and it's still fine.

I used it extensively while I worked for Hobie sunglasses. I used it to cushion our metal frames and glass lenses. Worked beautifully.

I have no trouble with it hardening in the bottle. But after I use it, I remove the applicator tip, replace the origional cap on the bottle and clean the applicator and aplicator cap. A set of air brush cleaning brushes and probe is most usefull for this. Have used the same bottle for years.

Mine came with a cap that fit over the nozzle which I've left there so it's sealed. (The nozzle is probably plugged too.) I just unscrew the green part after a few good shakes and mine is years old as well. If a little lump comes out I just pick it and flick it away.
Word of caution! Make sure the individual your dispensing to doesn't have a latex allergy.
Bev: The innerliner of a lens isn't going to contact the patient.
Didn't have an issue as we went through it too fast!

Many of the old Optyl metal Playboy frames came with it standard. The best tip was keeping a piece of eyewire nylon in the dispense tube. That's where it would always clog up.

I store mine with the original flat cap on the bottle and the metal applicator tube in the zip lock bag. I can't say I have ever had a bottle dry up in the last 20+ years.
Didn't they used to call this 'cushlin' and come standard on Menrad frames? I seem to remember seeing it on those.
