I am wondering what is the best seling line of frames in your establishment.
    My expirience:
    Low end($40-$100): CAC optics
    Mid($80-$150) : Safilo
High($150 and up) : Kawasaki, Giorgio Armany, Calvin Klein (I dont sell verrry expensive frames)

    Hi Lenny:

We're in CT. Right now we can't keep Perry Ellis ($99 - $109), Liz Claiborne ($159), Claiborne ($159), or Cottet unisex ($159) on our shelves. We are also selling more Flexon ($249) than usual.

People are coming in asking for Titanium frames, plastic frames and three-piece mounts in general. As far as name brands they are asking for: Tommy Hilffiger, Fendi, DKNY, Oakly, Versace and other brands like it. Basically they are looking for classic kind of looks and lines that they carry in New York City.

    Hi Lenny:
We're in MD. We are doing pretty well w/ Geoffrey Beane ($159-$199) for/with men...Laura Ashley ($169) and titaniums up to ($199)...Our most expensive frame is a titanimum priced @ ($209)...we can't support a high-end collection here!... although people are calling for Versaces, Takumi (magnetic clips) and of course...Giorgios!

We've always done well with Flexons ($239-309). We sell a lot of Nine West ($159) at our FSU location. We also do well with Calvin Kleins...

Hey, EyeCon, how are the Keys doin...I lived in DC and Rockville for over 20 years.

My best selling frames, bar none are Flexons.
Next would be Calvins followed by Ray Ban.

We do very well with Calvin Kleins (@$200.00-$229.00) and have been well with the new TMA drill mounts since we picked them up a coule of weeks ago. We also do well with Rodenstock's.

Silhouette Titan's are by far my best selling line. I do the drilling and mounting in house, saves time and $. Just took on the Kawasaki rimless line, doing well also. Flexon has done well and Nikon Titanium.
Lenny, Where are you in Brooklyn? I use to have my shop in Jersey City, and I worked on Madison Ave for a few years.

Like Dave, Silhouette Titans have been the hot item for a year, flexons go well, so does Tura and polo.

Eddie Bauer (esp. Laguna) Smart-Clips, Akita, Aspen, and The entire Charmant Syntheseyes line. All do very well are strong, lightweight and can mount very strong high index lenses with excellent cosmetic results.

The Nine West line does very well but we only charge about 110 for them, are we missing the boat by not getting 160?

I just bought a shop in July. First thing I did was upgrade the inventory, change the name to something that sounded a little fancier, and raised the prices. So far, even in this small farm community, I am getting the best response on FENDI($225-300), Flexon($195-278), Silhouette Titan($300), and Charmant Titanium($150-175).
By the way, I looked at the financial statement for August of last year when it was under the previous owners. I doubled those sales figures for the same time frame. I guess the strategy is working. I love being an independent Optician.
