Barcode scanner...

...and the santinelli me1200. I know that I 'should' use their 'specialized' barcode scanner. However, I happen to have some old metrologic (still made and sold) programmable barcode scanners.

I'm wondering if there is anyone here that might know what the settings are (or know where to get them) for the scanner. Its still an rs232 interface, and that's how the edger interfaces. The scanner powers up and acknowledges connection. Tho when I scan, nothing happens.

I know this could be posted in the optical area, but what I'm looking for is someone with more knowledge of serial ports than me.

I have all the programming documentation for the scanner, just not what the machine uses, and (of course) santinelli 'cant help me'.

Which bar code scanner did you use? I needn't scan all bar codes, only common bar codes, such as code 128, pdf 417.

I know this is very old but did you get any luck finding the programming for Nidek (Santinelli) edger barcode scanners?
