    Locating Perfectly Round Eyewire Frames

    Hi,

A customer of mine needs a full rimmed metal frame with a round eyewire of approx eyesize of 44mm. I have noted that most frames that are billed as "round" simply are not, and this is evident by their A and B measurements not being equal! Any suggestions for frame manufacturers and/or frame names that measure up to this requirement is appreciated.

I believe Gant has a few round styles with smaller eye sizes.

Or, i've had luck getting a frame that was ALMOST round (45 A, 39 B ish) and reshaping the eye to as close to round as you can get. (Leave the eyewire screws in and tight, and compress the A measurement to increase the B) If you have a tracer, just trace the reshaped eye (if possible) or cut a demo from the reshaped eye and retrace that.

I was searching for some a while back, and here's the feedback I got:

Most frames are not equidistant from the A to the B. It's too easy for the lens to spin in the frame, which could throw off an axis or your OC's. Good luck!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
